I saw in the news that the minimum wage rates are to be increased, i have attached the chart showing the wage just now for all regions.
The bureau of making things more complicated than they should be have had a hand in this as for example in this region 7 there is a spread of between 387 to 425, instead of being a firm amount employers have to stick to.
As i have spent a lot of time in Makati i can understand the difference between the NCR 533 to 570 and here as prices there are much higher but what i cannot understand is that in almost all regions the rate for agricultural workers is lower than non agricultural workers.
If i was an agricultural worker who had just spent all day toiling under the hot sun i would be very envious of the people in Robinsons mall that seem to spend most of the day playing with their phones and getting paid more than them.
Maybe i am overthinking it and agricultural workers would never see the chart :greedy:

I saw another news where they stated that the minimum wages should be increased by another 100 Php per day to really cover all the increased living costs.

Min. wage is an interesting concept. In the USA the minimum wage for restaurant servers is only $2.13 per hour. (Click here for link to prove that). In fact, all US workers earn more than that minimum wage.

Some Canadian provinces went the other way. Minimum wage in BC is now $16.75 per hour and people won't work for it. There is a stigma attached to the phrase "minimum wage" that tells people not to get out of bed unless they get more than that.

My point is you can make up any number you like and call it minimum wage, but if workers don't want to work for that then you have to pay them what it takes to keep them.

Problem I guess, the social welfare system is too generous there as it is also in The Netherlandsand thus no incentive!

You didn't actually read the link you posted did you?

    Federal law
The United States of America federal government requires a wage of at least $2.13 per hour be paid to employees who receive at least $30 per month in tips.[4] If wages and tips do not equal the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour during any week, the employer is required to increase cash wages to compensate.[5]

Back in Ontario Canada when I was 14 years old 1976 I earned $10 per hour picking Mushrooms. Before that at age 13, 1975 I earned $11 dollars per hour picking Tobacco. At the age of 15 1976 I cut chords of wood for $20 a Chord x 8 Chords a day, $3,200 per Month. At 16 I was a Chicken Catcher and an Apple Picker on Weekends and earned $4,100 per Month. By 17 I owned my own Furniture, Stereo, Racing Snow Mobile, 1962 Chevy 11, and had over 10,000 bucks in savings. A life in a Capitalist Society has nothing to do with what you can be given doing less. All Persons are free to seek out their own pathways and not bow and beacon call to the path the Herd follows. My Father would say.... "When you come to a fork in the road and most take one path and the others take the other, just make sure you have a Chainsaw to cut your own" Have always lived by that. This is Life. When one thinks they "cannot" they are incorrect. We on Earth are all faced with the ability of understanding our independence. understanding that we are Animals and have equal Natures! If an individual fails at the basics of understanding their true Nature, they alone are responsible for failure and strife.

"Equal Natures" maybe, but not equal opportunities, that depends where one happens to be born or live.
Making the most of what ability you have been given/ learnt, governs how far one succeeds....... just my 2 cents.

There are Individuals that are incapacitated. If they are incapable that is another matter. As for your 3 points (opportunity. Geography, and Education) They can perhaps lead to defaulting a few times, but that is not defeat. 198 Countries and all have those that have succeeded. Persons with low education that have gone on to succeed is well known in History. Defeatism is the acceptance of defeat without struggle. Struggle is make forceful or violent efforts to get free of restraint or constriction.

Yes minimum wages are to be increased, although the only region that has already published the increase is the NCR (from 570 to 610, an increase of 7%. Minimum wage hike petitions are pending in 4 other regions (also for our region VII).
However, with average core inflation still above 7%, workers on minimum wage get just around nothing in terms of their overall buying power.
The problem with minimum wage earners though, is that their expenses don't really mirror the average, but are much more heavily weighted to food, housing and transport. These expense categories have risen much faster in price than average inflation.

The minimum wage rates in this country are "firm amounts" under the law, even if it's overly complicated. The lower amounts refer to employers with less than 10 employees.

I guess that the lower wages in agriculture reflect the lower productivity per worker in agriculture (hard to improve unless you use machines rather than just manual labour).
