Has anyone seen the video of the woman stabbed to death at the Caltex filling station beside Palawan hotel, this was broad daylight town centre a few days ago around 2pm. I read the 21 year old guys reason for the stabbing was that he was hungry but he took her life and nothing from her shopping bags, this leads me to believe he was a nutjob and should be locked away for ever. Every time i drive through Dumaguete i see one or two that if they are not certifiable then they definitly deserve some investigation, there was an old guy with long hair and an overgrown beard hangs around the cockfight area, one day saw him naked there another day he was throwing handfulls of what looked like small coins at passing traffic. On the boulevard there are at least 2 women who hang around with scanty clothes on and stare into all passing traffic, i don't mean to be unkind but if these women are looking for business they both need some extensive care at a beauty salon that is of course after a hose down with Zonrox. There are others that i have forgotton the details, are the tourist police still active, i never seem to see them nowadays. Too late to act after the main event, these nutters should be off the streets.
The problem might well be that in this country there's no such thing as forensic psychiatry, nor do psychiatric closed institutions exist, or at best these things are in their infancy. Regular jailtime will obviously do no good at all for such mentally ill people who are a danger to themselves and others.
This might sound harsh but i don't care about doing good for mentally ill people, i care about them being allowed the freedom to harm other people.
The murderer has been interrogated by the police. Asking why he did stab the woman from behind , the answer, I asked her for money coz I was hungry but she did not give me. Mentally ill or not, these kind of people have no right to be a member of the society any longer.
