I hit my big toe months ago and now the nail is separating from the nail bed. That's why I'm looking for a good nail salon or a podiatrist as to how I should proceed. In an old post, Jack Peterson mentioned a salon near Evermall. Perdices st. But unfortunately I didn't find anything there. Does anyone know a good nail salon that is familiar with such cases ?

I would be wary of going to any private clinic unless you have firm recommendations - such as someone who went there a year ago and still have their hands and feet.

Going to a hospital might be better - we are so lucky to have four here (!!!) - so there might just possibly be someone who is competent. I don't think this doctor would deal with the problem BUT if he recommends someone it is worth taking his advice: Dr Henry Tan at Holy Child.

    I don't know.
I had this problem some 18 months ago, I do remember injuring my toe and it was discoloured for a while, knowing I was due to go back to UK I did nothing about it as it was not causing me any pain, back in UK I go to the Doc and a sample was taken to check for a fungus, this come back negative for Fungus and nothing more was done about it, eventually the nail parted and fell off, now it has mostly grown back but only one half of it.

The only problem I have with this now is when I paint my nails it looks odd?

Try changing the colour and if that's not successful, just paint the whole of your toes

You won't find a podiatrist in the Philippines. It is not a recognized medical specialty (unfortunately). You need to see an M.D. orthopedic specialist.
