We had a special birthday celebration and my wife suggested Adamo. Never been there before. I will give a rating based that it is here in Dumaguete - food, price, service, ambience. Food - rating 9 out of 10. Again, for here. Price - rating 7. Expensive but you get what you pay for. Service - rating 3 . I will leave it at that. Ambiance - 2. Sparce (disappointing for upscale restaurant. Our order: US ribeye steak, grilled fish, roasted fish in mushroom sauce, 2 prawn mango salads, chocolate moose for 3. Cost - P4350. Would I recommend? Depends
Sadly, another in a long list of restaurants serving overpriced mediocre food in this country. We gave up on listening to restaurant recommendations a couple of years ago and never looked back, maybe eat out 1-2 times per year now. Ironically, I think the quality of the food here is outstanding and one of the most underrated and unrecognized benefits of living here - food prep is another story. Fresh tropical veggies and fruit, you can't do any better. Pork is good, chicken is good, fish is fresh and variety is wonderful. Lack of decent dairy is one culprit in the poor food prep but their food crops for the most part aren't hosed down with pesticides, herbicides and excess fertilizer nor are they genetically modified. Fresh, healthy and tasty- so why so many many crappy restaurants?? On a personal note I also find the quality of snacks here, let's just say - lacking. But then I have always considered that a plus, I can live without red meat, chips and ice cream so win win for me, even though I still find some snacks I like!
