Have a look at Dyness (and other suppliers) Powerwall - 10kWh, 90% DOD, 10 yr warranty P93k. Or if you need more there's a 14.4kWh Powerbrick, 95% DOD/10 yr warranty P98k. Can be installed to recharge from the grid and run the house full time or through brown outs and later convert to solar recharging.

There is a connection between "portable" and "going out". But I understand your particular needs are not for portability but for stability at home.

I am going to try and talk to a few companies about installing full solar at our place in Bacong.Planning on being in country over Christmas this year. Any recommendations would be welcome.

I used a Freelancer who works for different companies. I send you his number tomorrow, I got the materials myself but he got the Lithium batteries.
If you want to use a company, I would recommend Visayan Solar.

We are looking at Apex Power Solutions right now. They have been in business since 2020, not quite as long a Jeff, but they come highly recommended a couple of construction companies. We will see what they say but initial estimates are 850,000 peso for 13.9 kwp hybrid system with 60kwh Powerwall batteries. One inverter, 4 51.2v 300AH batteries, 24 550w monocrystalline panels.

That seems quite expensive. I was quoted P485k for 15.4kW hybrid with 2 x 8kW inverters, 28 550W monocrytalline panels, inc all cable, clips, wiring, plans, installation + 20 yrs warranty on the panels and 5 years on everything else inc. the workmanship etc. If you add a powerwall at about P100k then I would expect around P600k total, The company is Philippine owned but run by her UK husband - who is fully qualified.

Did everyone suffer the brown/black 0ut today - with very little warning?

Off from 5 am to 7.30 pm! WTF.

Now that it is back our PLDT is not working - seems a coincidence and I suspect it is not. Back on 11th March their phone service says.

Big Business - come to the Philippines. All is well.
