When I first came to the Philippines in the military, a Filipino band at the NCO club were singing songs by the Four Seasons and sounding just as great, surprisingly. Now days my wife is doing that all day long. I imagine many of you are hearing the same.

I was able to see Filipino performers throughout my career in many locations; always solid.

Two of my favorites on YouTube are Filipino family bands. Franz Rythm & Missioned Souls.

I recently discovered Tagalog Reggae and prefer it to the original (?) Caribbean version.

The music scene in Moalboal is almost totally Tagalog Reggae.

One of the best singers, Kokoi Baldo, tragically died in a motorcycle accident in Bacolod in December 2023.

Search for Reo Brothers in Youtube, they make their living from playing predominantly Beatles stuff in the US. And do it very well too! Also worth mentioning is Arnel Pineda, the guy that the American band Journey (Don't stop believin') recruited via Youtube to replace their lead singer and front man Steve Perry. He both sound and resemble his predecessor!

The REO Brothers played at an LGU function in Bacong last year.
They were great, an evening well spent. Truly a class act. They stayed around after the show to take selfies and sign autographs for all their fans.
