I just read a sad post on FB from the Dumaguete animal sanctuary, last night people were letting off fireworks close to it and a lot of the inmates were getting very stressed out so one of the people who work there asked them to move further away to let off the fireworks, of course this was totally ignored by the morons so they just carried on, sad part is one of the dogs got so stressed it had a heart attack and died.:frown:

Not only in Dumaguete those morons. My home country, The Netherlands, I am a bit a shame to say so, had a New Year's eve which can be described as war. Policemen and all other public servants going out for any help or assistance were attacked by fireworks and some one of the most heavy. Nowadays many countries in the world a lot of people lost their mind and are completely non responsive any more for just normal behavior.
The punishment those morons may get is ridiculous and will certainly not cause the effect they will change their attitude.

Surprising in a country where everyone cares so much about others.

I stopped being shocked to find that punishments now in the UK are so derisory: I read of thieves in the UK fined LESS THAN the value of what they stole and, even if that is never recovered, they can end up paying no compensation. "Crime doesn't pay" WAS the mantra.

Compare that with here, where a man (very recently) called his ex-wife an "animal" (biologically correct) on social media and was fined P100,000 (that is equivalent to about a year's pay for a low paid worker).

What shocked me most was that he was also sentenced to EIGHT years in prison.

The ironic thing about this is that the people who run the sanctuary only do it for the welfare of the animals but if the dog that died had been left out in the wild as soon as the noise started it would have ran as far away as possible and probably still been alive today.
What to do ? lock the morons inside the sanctuary and let the 4 leg animals run free.
    Just a thought.
