Dumaguete Post Office

We recently moved to a new place in Dumaguete. A paved road with no street name & no house number. Now I haven't had a need for US postal as yet. What I did need is a way for Shopee and Panda express and the like to find us. Our previous place was in a subdivision with a block and lot number so no issues there.

Those services do allow putting a pin in a google map on their apps, but drivers don't seem to look at them, just the address. I tried sending them grid coordinates when they call. As you can imagine, they had no clue what that is or how to copy and paste it into any browser or mapping app so Asawa just talked them in the Pinoy way. So after a bit more scratching my head I came across Google Maps Plus Codes. I'd seen them on google maps before but never paid much attention to them.

Plus Codes are like street addresses for people or places that don’t have one. Instead of addresses with street names and numbers, Plus Codes are based on latitude and longitude, and displayed as numbers and letters. With a Plus Code, people can receive deliveries, access emergency and social services, or just help other people find them.

Here is the one for Forrest Camp: 76QJ+4FC, Valencia, Negros Oriental, Philippines If you go to their website or just click on Forrest Camp in google maps it tell us it's on Taft street, Valencia but no address number.
I sent Forrest Camps + code to Asawa in Messenger and Google messages. In both it appears as a link that gives three options; Map Copy Share. My pizza from The Hideout showed up so my Panda express driver gets how to use it. We'll see about Shopee. I'm also curious if it appears as a link in this message.
