Over the years i have been here i have noticed something that consistently happens with eating places, you find a good one, tell people about it and if they go to eat and they tell people then the place gets really busy, that's when the problems start as all the eating places here seem to not realize that if you start getting twice as much customers as normal without increasing the amount of staff then quality of service goes down the pan as in food takes longer to get to the table, orders have mistakes and sometimes the food is just not so good as it used to be.
Lesson learned is that if you find a good place, tell no one !

I am in this area now for over 20 years and have seen the number of restaurants and other places where you can eat increased by many more. Once in a while I tried a new place but after one visit I already decided this is my first and last visit coz it doesn't add any extra's or specials compared with the places I already go. I have 5 places I frequently visit much too my pleasure. Which one, like @Charly B advised, tell no one.

I eat out very rarely - sometimes due to a dog-issue we have and sometimes because I have had mild stomach upsets after eating at restaurants.

But I like Lantaw, Sans Rival, Bahia, Adamo and want to try the new seafood place Pala-Pala. That's just some places I would go back to but I am not a local-dining expert.

I see that Tripadvisor shows the 5 best rated as Buglas Isla (never been there), La Mensa Italian Chophouse (I always knew it as only La Mensa - but think it's over-priced), Piapi Deli (never been there), The Pawnshop (never been there), Casablanca (not been there for years).

I wonder why on Tripadvisor Casablanca (5th) gets 4.1 BUT Adamo at 4.7 is listed as 6th (and this is based on "Highest Rating")???

Besides some of those mentioned already I do enjoy Casablanca for the atmosphere and decent food quality, but admittedly they've been hiking up many of their prices too much for my liking. Lunch menu used to be 395 but is now 545.
Also the Cafe Racer has a pretty much ok menu, and their Tournedos offers good value for money.
For a lower key lunch Mamia (close to the parking garage) and Chantilly (close to Ace hospital) are reasonable alternatives.

Tried Nick the Greek (restaurant) in Valencia for our dinner tonight. They have a rather limited menu but the food is genuinely good.
So if you're a fan of Gyros, Souvlaki and Tzatziki and a proper Greek salad by all means give them a try.

Yes - but FIRST I'll learn how to pronounce them!

I am, that's not. The seasoning was good but not a trace of lamb meat. Pork does not a gyro make. Although, the owner standing next to our table choking on a cigarette did seem Greek to me.
