    Runners

I used to see one or two regular runners early morning on the boulevard they would do several circuits I would guess big laps as they took a long time to come thru again, your best bet is to go on the boulevard and catch them maybe you could arrange to run together, i used to be a road runner myself and thats why they caught me eye, also on a sunday morning some guys would meet up with moutain/ all terrain bikes (bicycles) all were pinoy, and had all the gear on, as I was also a Club cyclist I used to smile as they had some european pro cycling team jerseys. I was a runner and had a bad injury and I switched to cycling and was a better cyclist, in my local racing club here in UK my heroes were : Hinault, Millar, Fignon, Kelly etc. NOW its full of dopers! Oh and I cannot swim! so triathlons I do not know anything about! I doubt that anyone there would be a triathlon, but they have a Tour of Negros stage race I believe and a phils tour also, some of the mountain sections must be hard! heavy roads! I watched the Lankawi tour in malasia once, that was hilly in parts! so anyway good luck and keep running! wish I could still be as fit as I used to be, I was a 10stone strong man once...now i am a 15stone weakling! lol!

When I lived outside of town (Dgte) I jogged along the roads. If I come back for a vacation and staying at Bethel, I jog thru various roads downtown early in the morning before the traffic starts. No cars at all!

Blvd itself is too crowded and too boring-sometimes too hot.

I think some guys from the basketball team were running along the blvd for a few days.

the closed it to runners/joggers/walkers because supposedly they were going to upgrade it to rubberized track. however, there's still no sign of it.

i do know of two people who still go there but they run up and down the bleachers instead. hehe

Thanks for the comments everyone, the track besides the pool there has been rubberised but is still curing so no running there for now.

How about the high diving boards? Any details about people organising diving club/classes

I heard that there are going to be diving classes over at the Aqua Center for the summer. Perhaps you could drop by there and ask around.

    Re: running/jogging/walking
Some people like to run around Freedom Park on late afternoons. You could try it there, too.

for the record Metro Dumaguete Roadrunners meets every Sunday at Quezon park. early...5-6am. usually run 3k and 5k loops. often 10,15 and 20k. Nice group of folks and some good runners in there. Some training for marathons.

This morning was a fun run in aid of World Water Day...even got hot lugao(sp?) afterwards

    Cheers
