looking for a house in or around Dumaguete

We are looking for a house in or around Dumaguete (30 minutes drive). Must have at least 3 bed rooms and 2 toilets and bathrooms. A garden also a must. Would prefer to be out in the country or near the beach
Looking to ideally move in by 15th of September 2008.

Looking to rent or steal, steal would be best.
In regards to price range the cheaper the better, but also want some comfort, so the answer to your question is that we don’t know. We will be in Dumaguete around September 5th and then would like to look at some properties and make a decision.

I can recommend again to stay in a hotel, rent a scooter and look around.

IMHO it is not that important if you like the place you want to buy (sure it is) but more If you like the neighbourhood and what development could go on in that area.

You can have the best place today and will be happy for a year and than the construction of an industrial park starts, or a resort or 2 Karaoke bars... and you just wanna get out of there..

There are some good pension houses here, low cost hotels. Its always best to visit or first stay in an affordable pension house or hotel prior to making decisions from far away.

The Philippines is a good place to retire too or live and Negros is one of the better Islands, but like anywhere its best to get street wise. Hopefully by looking at the threads of DI the members here will aid you to become wise and make your stay in Dum a very welcome and good one.
