Hear! Hear! This info is correct.Firearms are tools that are easily made to be understood. Not feared, mystical or mysterious. Those who introduce their children to guns, using common sense and good safety technique, have less of a concern
of incidents occurring...as opposed to those who keep firearms a 'mystery'.

It is not about fear my dear fellow, it is about consequences. And the consequences of using a gun in the Philippines to kill someone, are not known until after the fact. the laws here favor locals, you can be right within the suppoesed law and still be arrested, deported, or killed by disgruntled family members. You want to take that chance be my guest.

Thanks for sharing this advice. I really believe that it is important for foreigners to pay attention to what is being said here. I copied all this info and sent it to others friends interested in the PHL. I always send them very POSITIVE things but I also want them to realize that when they go to the PHL they are viewed as a foreigner and the laws are different and things operate differently so they should not act as if they never left their own country.

just join the local gun club, you'll find out what really is the situation not just hearsay. and get to fire a gun legally.

Get to fire a gun? not on my list of things to do while in the Phils. But probably good advice if you do have a burning desire to join the gun culture here.
Legally, or within the auspices of the powers that be... its about who you know, not the law.

    And that's a fact.

    Fun with guns

I have always wanted a good pellet gun. Just like everything else new to us in life, it seems to be a lot you need to know. I spent all day today looking for any kind of gun less than the ones people kill themselves or others with. I hope to get through this life without killing anyone. It may not be true but in my mind, owning a real gun raises the chance of killing someone or getting yourself killed with it. I just want to shoot stuff on my own property. Had a BB gun as a child (I don't recommend any kind of gun for kids). It was so much fun but it always felt like it was too dangerous for a child to have such a thing. Well, I am no where near being a child anymore. That was 40 something years ago. Anyway, long story short.... I am having a hard time finding stores that sell these kind of guns and I have no idea which one has the power I want (the most powerful). I watched a few videos on youtube. It seemed a single pump rifle may be the strongest. This guy shot pellets into an ammunition box.
My first preference would be some kind of Beretta/M9/Glock, auto option with a clip that shoots large caliber pellets. Added to that, I would like a single pump rifle and a single pump shotgun.
Can anyone here help me with first finding stores that sell these kind of guns? If you know just the gun for me as I have described, that would be nice also. Thanks people...
p.s. Don't want to get too deep into this subject but it doesn't seem clear if you need to register these types of guns with the local government. What's the short on that?
