Hope somebody can help out or point me in the right direction. I'm not opposed to moving if the potentional employee can pay for relocation. I'm 31 year olds, married with 2 baby girls. I was let go of from my previous employee in Clark. Back in October, and I've not been able to find work or any company willing to sponsor me since then. Going back to the states isn't an option, as we are essentionally "on our own" and the money just isn't there.

I've 10 years experience in inbound, outbound, & field customer service. As well as novice experience with inbound, outbound, & field sales. I'd prefer at home work if possible, but if my only option is pitching a tent in the jungle 1000km away I'm game for whatever is out there. Please let me know.

    Sincerely,
    Justin

Lucas, I hope you can find a job somewhere in the Philippines.
It will be not easy but that you are already very aware of.
Try to contact as many as possible people in your search, but I don't expect a forum (like this) will be good potential for that.
But you're right, never tried never gained.
It shows guts to try it. Success with your search to find an employer.

Call center..., an American will have little trouble landing a job.

Good pay, signing bonus..., what else pays like that?

Dumaguete has teleteck..., Bacolod, Cebu, Manila all have call centers.

Forget the names of all the companies, but there's afew.

    Good luck,

    chris

ps- good chance you'll be promoted into a training position in no time.

Do you speak Tagalog? There are a few multinational corporations in Manila that would hire a multilingual person perhaps. Dont expect you will have much luck if you are not because most postings will be filled from within unless you have a skill they really need. Anyway I would think your best shot would be manila, or there is always the US military, which has upped the maximum age for recruits to around 40. That may not be available in a few more years. Lots of benefits if you are a survivor. Good luck on your search.

In the meantime, you can hit up Elance and Odesk and start applying for whatever is available. Good luck.

Mate, good luck .... good advices already, get out of AC , that save more than 50% of your cost of living.

Creating 1000 $ (in the province, NOT AC) is enough for a small family on low to medium standard (as a Expat)... and that IS possible with the advices above ...

    Your Screwed

I think you are asking for the impossible dream. You need to take your family and go back to the United States and pray you find work. There is no work for foreignors in the Philippines unless you are a government worker and you have to be hired stateside to get the job. You have highly skilled and educated filipinos that can't even find work and you expect to get a job there? Your Kidding yourself if you think that is going to happen unless you can land a job at Jolly Bees making filipino wages. The first thing you need to do is get the hell out of Angeles city because that is not a cheap place to live on a zero income. I know it is easy to get seduced by the filipino bar scene and night life of Angeles city, but you must face the facts and go home. The American embassy will not help you if your broke. The most you might get out of the embassy is a free phone call back home. I assume that you are not getting any kind of retirement pension since your only 31 years old. A tent out in the jungle is no option for anyone. I was lucky enough to get a $1,200.00 pension every month and I will tell you it is just enough only for one person to get by on in the Philippines. Some of my fellow expats may disagree with that unless you live on a tight careful budget. I like angeles city very much, but could never live there even on my pension. I know this is something that you don't want to hear, but you must face the cold hard facts. The foreignors on this website have been too kind to you on advice. I'm sure any long term expat will tell you the same advice that I'm telling you now. GO HOME !!! Don't end up like some of my fellow Americans outside the American embassy crying for help only to be turned away. Do yourself a favor and buy a ticket home.

If you're in good health and want a challenge.....Marine Corps recruiter in Honolulu...ring him and he'll likely send you a ticket to Honolulu, a hotel room there and meals, and then a ticket to San Diego. They did for my son years ago from here....Interesting assignments, a steady job to sponsor your family to the US, housing, medical etc...

    Justin,
It's a hard truth but you have got to get out of here. My business failed and work dried up for me in the early nineties and I had to pull up stakes and head back home. It took me 10 years to recover but I've been back 2 years now. The family survived quite nicely without me. I just sent them a check every month. Sometimes life sucks.
