Fast craft (Ocean Jet and Weesam): 4 hours; approx. P900 Slow boat (George & Peter and Cokaliong) overnight 7-8 hours; approx. P650
There are no direct boats that I know of. Fastest way, I think, would be to take a Ceres bus from Cebu South Terminal to the ro-ro that lands at Tampi (Maayong Shipping from Santander, Cebu). Then, you may need to change buses to hop one going north to Tanjay. (Most will be going South to DGT/Bayawan.)
This is a great idea, but I gotta wonder about your content provider...their rates, at least for boats and airfare aren't very accurate. Also, I wonder why they suggested the places they did (in terms of hotels/restos)...they wouldn't be the ones I would recommend!
Pet Friendly Hotel in Dumaguete We're coming to Dumaguete in early June with our son, who has just been accepted to Silliman University. Our dog, Bridget, will be traveling with us, since we're coming to the Philippines to stay (I'm retiring). Does anyone know of a hotel that would accept a small friendly dog? Bridget is a Toy Maltese. Weighs just 9.5 pounds.
Dog Ken: Can you provide any info on transport of a small dog to and from the P.I.? I suspect it is more difficult re-entering the U.S.. Thank you Mike
Bringing a dog to the Philippines We are going to be flying on a Delta flight from JFK to Manila. They are the only airline that would allow a small dog to fly in the cabin. We were very leary about having her in the cargo hold for the entire flight. We had to apply via email for an importation permit. The address is: Bureau of Animal Industry Visayas Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City Philippines Tel. No. (632) 920-0816 Fax No. (632) 920-0815 quarantine_bai@yahoo.com We were asked to include the following info in our permit request: Dog's owner: Owner's Address: Owner's email address: Dog's breed: Dog's Sex Dog's Age Date of Birth Number of dogs: When we land, which will be late in the evening in Manila, we were assured a quarantine officer will be on duty to examine her papers, which must include a clearance from her vet in the US, which must include her complete immunization records. As I understand it, a clearance certificate, issued within 10 days of departure is also necessary in order to depart from the US.
Thank you for the detailed information as we have a Cavalier King Charles and would like to bring the dog. Do you intend to take your dog back to the U.S. and if so are there any additional requirements, quarantine, or customs issues?
You are welcome. Nope. We don't intend to bring our dog back to the US. We will be living in the Philippines permanently.
Sorry, Don Atilano is named after the family's grandfather Atilano, I think the family name is Hilado or Villegas
