thanks chrissar.. but how much would it cost me if I want to use their pool? Also, where did u place your stuffs - did u rent cottage/hut? if so, how much? And their shower room, hows that?

I'm still thinking if Il just get their Gab-i sa Dakak Package or just day tour and spend the night at dapitan. I dunno if 1850/pax/night (and we are 3) is a best deal coz ive read some blogs about dakak..

Im on a budget!..cant do gambling unless i'l feel lucky by that time.:D:D

thanks chrissar.. hope to hear from u..

    Dapitan

I went 2 Dakak a couple times on day trips, staying along the beach in Dapitan. Dakak is a very nice Resort and the town of Dapitan is peaceful and sleepy with several small to medium size resorts along its brown sand beach. Many tourists are scared off when they hear that Dapitan is in Mindanao, but really, it is very safe. The town has a new strip mall near the beach Called Gloria de Dapitan (only open in late afternooon and evening), complete with restaurants, night club as well as a Cockpit and attached amusement park. Many of the stores and restaurants seemed to be struggling to stay alive so I dont know what is there now. There is a decent park on the edge of town with another Rizal monument and some replicated native style buildings. St James Church in the town center is worth visiting; as well as the Tourist Center, housed in a beautiful old Manor home in the heart of the town. If you feel like taking a bit of a hike, you can make your way up to the top of a hill near the Church that will give you a view over the entire town and surrounding area.

There are several ferries that run to Dapitan throughout the day, including the fastcraft, but none dock in Dapitan. I think the regular ferries, like Montenegros and Supper Shuttle take about 3 1/2 hours. Best to take a walk around the pier in Dumaguete to get current prices and schedule. The port is actually about 15 minutes pedicab ride away, between Dapitan and Dipolog and the drivers will probably try to soak you for a couple hundred pesos to get to town. Getting from Dapitan to Dakak can be a bit cumbersome also. I took a habal-habal to the resort but had to make arrangements to have him meet me for the return trip afterwards. I have never seen a jeepney there nor any pedicabs sitting out in front of the resort. Of course, if you are sleeping at Dakak, the resort provides its own transportation.

I remember going there last year and in thee evenings, once a week they would have a cultural show. It was fabulous. The beach is so clean and also the pools. They literally have one to two people sweeping and raking the beach clean and the pool has one person cleaning the pools at all times when I was there. It was just superb.....I envy you if you do frequent day trips there. I have yet to try the NEW amusement park...I hear its quite good......

Your better off getting a fast cat from Dumaguete and going to Diplog. From the Wharf take a V-Hire to Dapitan or Dakak Beach Resort. You may be able to get a bus, but I am not sure as I did not take this form of travel.

Prices may have changed since. Fantasy Land which is a a private run amusement park is also near Diplog......

Price from memory for the fast cat ferry was around the 400 pesos mark per person with a approx 2.5 hour trip or less..something like that. From there we hired a V-Hire for around the 1000Php to take us direct. We booked on the spot and rooms were in a cottage which looked japanese, but my wife says it was a native cottage. It was very good and clean with superb service. I have never seen a beach so clean!

Prices for the resort : Dakak Park & Beach Resort

Enjoy your trip if you plan to go there!
