Unfortunately, I don't think they will be legal here in another few months, not the right certifications for the Philippines, not approved by DTI.

On top of that, Dumaguete is trying to implement a law against full face helmets.

Well, you wasted my d*mn time "Larry", I was all over the web looking for something about full face helmet "ban"... there ain't one.

Not a thing about it, but I did find this link by YOU 2 years ago where YOU thought full face helmets would be a boon to robbers and snatchers.


So, if you don't want a helmet, stay offa my thread here.

 

I know that there are many fine quality helmets in the world, but under the new law only helmets approved by the DTI and bearing the PS and/or ICC certificate will pass muster;



The DTI, through the BPS, shall conduct a mandatory
testing of all manufactured and imported motorcycle helmets in
the Philippines. All manufacturers and importers of standard
protective motorcycle helmets are required to secure a PS license
or ICC prior to the sale and distribution oftheir products. The
BPS shall issue periodically a list of motorcycle helmet

manufacturers and importers and the brands which pass the
. standards of the BPS to be published in a newspaper of general
circulation or in its website.

So do these helmets have the ICC and/or PS sticker?

A debate has been raging in Dumaguete for the last two years about the wearing of full face helmets. It has so far not been passed. Maybe it never will be;

Do you know why Dumaguete City like to implement a law against full helmets. In my opinion that is wrong because fullhelmets is the best protection for motorbike drivers. Yesterday I heard in the filipino grapevine that October 2010 is the month when helmets must be used by all drivers. I wonder who have an inventory big enough to supply all drivers a helmet withing 2 months. Big Job and a Money Maker. Do we have enough Policemen to enforce the law?

The Mayor of Dumaguete Manuel Chiquiting Sagarbarria branded the proposal to prohibit the use of helmets as unconstitutional, for it violates the due process clause of the Constitution, which provided that protection to life refers not merely to the preservation of human existence but also to the security of the limbs and organs of the body against loss or injury.

 

So....... a full body "helmet" is next??!! :D
