I wish to beg a few questions before I put in an order. Firstly, have you actually eaten one of these yourself? Secondly, if so, at exactly what age was the bird when you, or one of your family actually killed it? Thirdly, if you have personally eaten one of them, how did you prepare it then cook it? Lastly, where is your stock from, are they local 'roadrunners' or are they from imported stock?

Those lil' fellers are selling fast, only got 9 left, mixed sexes.
Expatron, I got you covered with 2 pairs, can you go ahead and buy the last lil' feller too so he won't be lonely? We're close to Valencia.
KTM...we have a farm and have been raising, breeding, cleaning, cooking and enjoying on d' dinner table our own birds now for about 3 years.
All our turkey stock were originally imported.

Note: Male turkeys, referred to as "toms" reach full weight in 6-7 months. After that the meat will get progressively stringier and tougher. Males will be mature and begin to fight with each other from 6 months on also. One of their fighting moves is to peck each other in the breast area. This will leave the breast of the turkey scarred and hard. Totally ruining the best eating part of the bird.
Toms older than 6 months are pretty much only good for the grill. Also, good news is that packaged stuffing mix is now available (sometimes) in Dumaguete.

Mark, we got the little ones home and ensconced in their new cage. They seem to be quite content. It'll be fun watching them grow. I hope we don't get so attached to them that we won't be able to eat them when the time comes..............

It is an uncomfortable feeling eating a bird that you raised. The way I figure it, I give them a comfortable, well fed existence until the big day, than I give a word of thanks to the man upstairs, and make it as quick and painless for the bird as possible.
