Thanks for the info. I'm back in Hawaii and just attended our annual Brewfest with 30 commercial craft brewers supplying the beverages. Along with the Brewfest we hold a home brew competition with 240 entries this year. I'll be back later this year I hope and continue to look at Negros as a possible retirement/change career location. Since brewing is an important "hobby"......locating supplies and other brewers is a great help....Aloha

...Interesting you say Cebu, since in 2010 I met a guy from Angel City Brewing from So Cal that was doing some market research about the starting a micro in Cebu........we met and had a few beers he had brought with him to share with local beer drinkers at a local bar. He was met with a rather luke-warm interest is I remember correctly. Seems many expats are pretty "thrifty"...AKA "cheap Charlies" and whine about not getting a 2php change returned when they give a 10php coin for a 8php pedicab ride. I suppose if you run the numbers and it looks like you can cover costs...then maybe it would makes sense. I'd be happy just to be able to do my 1/2 barrel, all grain, home brews batches that I do here in Hawaii.

A topic about beer and Rhoody didn´t show up, strange. Is he out of town or out of the global village ?

    Thnx the Lord.
How is the Dumaguete score comparing to other islands ?
Do I have to move or its safe to stay here ?
Or do you recommend to do this temperature check from time to time to avoid all risks ?

Haven't tried beer, but occasionally dabble with home made fruit wine, comes out fairly drinkable, on rare occasions even memorable, (if taken in quantities of less than 3 bottles at a sitting).:o

I stay away from trying to make wine, but with all the tropical fruits available in the Philippines why not give it a shot. You may find making meads to your liking.....honey, yeast and the fruit you choose. Much easier than wine and you can drink it in a couple weeks if you're not patient enough to wait a year or two. Tons of recipes on line...FYI...."technical" term is a "melomel".......a mead with fruit added.
