Thanks for the report back Larry. We were going to go there tonight but for me Thai food without a bite would be like a burger without the meat. Can't take the beggars either.

My Expirience with Thai restaurants here in California? If it's not a Thai behind the grill then I'm just not interested. That's just My own opinion. We have two Thai Restaurants here in My hometown, one has cheap labor Mexican cooks {food no good} the other, Authentic Thai cooks {food Great}. Whenever I go to a Mexican Restaurant I don't expect the cooks to be Thai........cheers.

In their defense I must say the garlic pepper chicken was good, but yes, we wanted and expected a bite too.

The beggars were not as annoying as the waitresses staring at us the entire time from 3 feet away..

you should have read my report before about the spiciness , as a fact, that Thai food is spicy is not true, unless you order it like that.

a small very fraction of thai food comes really spicy original. the rest get spiced up on customer order or with Prik Nam Pla (Chili in Fish sauce).

Well, beggars is a problem indeed, I did not face it as I was sitting inside.

Best kept secret? This is a re-run. Our favorite seafood restaurant is Santa Monica Beach Resort. We took her mama and papa there tonight around 8, surprisingly, we were the only ones there. Maybe the densely population of north and west don't go dining in that direction. Whatever. We selected a seaweed salad and a cucumber-tomatoe-onion salad, barbecue pork on a stick, grilled lapu lapu filet, steamed whole lapu lapu, saute squid, barbecue chicken, kangkong, and ice cream. A few beers, sprite, water. Took home enough for breakfast tomorrow. To me, worth the drive to the beach.

We eat at SM on occasion, and have never been disappointed.

Not sure how much the grilled lapu lapu was, didn't look at the breakdown when the bill came. The food is layed out on ice and you pick out what you want and tell them how to cook it - grilled, barbecue, saute, whatever, but prices are not shown and we never asked how much each item was. The prawns were the largest I have had in PI.

    CB restaurant.

Again we went for lunch at CB restaurant. My wife ordered a filipino dish and I ordered enchiladas. My filipina wife and excellent cook did not like her dish. The meat was extremely chewy and the soup it came in was funny tasting according to her. My dish when served looked very exiting and being from California I know what Enchiladas is supposed to taste like. It was ok but WAY over spiced and so was the guacamole, very spicy and it burned in my mouth. There is nothing like Mexican food in California and it is hard to imitate. So what can I say, besides that my wife do not favor CB's food. Maybe there will be another day! Still love your Fil'e Mignon!
    Sorry Gunther!
