Where to eat....

I don't recall seeing Eidelweiss being mentioned in this thread of favorite spots. No one goes there?

We went back to Casa Blanca tonight, each of us ordering the Bicol Express.. My wife had it once before, so I opted for it as well this time.

Last time, the waitress said "we prefer (to give you) salsa with the French bread" when I asked for butter, but I said I wanted butter. I asked for butter again this time, but upon taking a look at the bill- which I hadn't done before, I see were charged p20 for the little bit of butter we had w the bread!

It's always something screwing up otherwise seemingly normal service isn't it? I'm surprised they don't charge you for using a knife instead of a spoon to cut your food!

Duh


Maybe we'll just bring our own butter next time

 

just for my understanding,

the bread at this restaurant is complimentary, free of charge, a add on.

You are not happy with something free, order something additional and complain to pay for your order ?

are you for real ? wow...

 

Sorry guy's, I was at Eidleweiss a few days ago and it was great, and I go to Casablanca when I'm in town.. Both have good food and atmosphere, even if something cost's me an extra P20 I don't care as long as the food and atmosphere is so good. Sorry again I don't complain. Duh

 

Been there many times...mostly only at the bar. The food has never impressed me despite their impressive prices.

It's for sale though...so, if anyone has a hankering to takeover a nice space and create a good menu, here is an opportunity!

 

I think the proper etiquette would always be to inform a guest of any extra charges. Either way, I personally find such things to be incredibly petty especially for a place aspiring to be a cut above.

But, since most of the restaurant's owners and it's Chef are regular contributors to this forum, perhaps this will give them an opportunity to address your concern directly...

 

I believe when I started this thread I wanted the "good" places to dine...... I even avoided putting down some eateries that I personally dislike but others seem to like..... it was not my desire to damage anyplace of business but EXPAND my list of good dinning facilities

I have dined at many of the places mentioned with less than satisfactory results sometimes.... there are restaurants and fast food places where I got camode hugging sick
..... When I am dissatisfied I contact the manager directly..... it may have been a one time event and it would be unfair to stain their reputation here...... If the manager does not respond I just go someplace else.....

What is wrong with you guys. You go to a restaurant, order something and wonder that you need to pay for that

It only shows incredibly poor character when people go to a place, get something for free and complain to get charged for a additional order as the free stuff is not good enough for them.

 

I'd bet the cost of the bread is factored into the price of the meal.
