Where to eat....

The Blue Monkey!

This eatery has come up once or twice, it is one of those places, that we pass almost daily and yet neither Azon or I, have eaten there. Can anyone let me know what type of menu it is. For some reason, I just imagined it to be like City Burger (I am sure it is not) or maybe Kamalig (Where I do like) obviously, it is like neither or it would not, have appeared on this Thread, I am sure. So folks, can anyone give me a run down, on the menu? It certainly sounds worth a Visit!

Blue Monkey is the open-air place on the corner of the Boulevard and Silliman Ave. I usually order the BBQ Chicken (best in town) and kinilaw with frozen iced tea or an ice cold beer. Their sizzling squid is pretty good also...I prefer spicy so they add chili if you request. I have not tried many of the other items on the menu so I can't comment on them, but the the chicken, kinilaw and sizzling squid are all good and very reasonably priced.

 

Any updates on the Thai restaurant? Haven't made it there yet, there were some posts soon after it opened but wondering if it is worth the trip?

I wont go back and give a place a second chance. One chance to please, there are too many options.

As for find a pube anywhere near my food (even unacceptable if found in the parking lot) me and the manager/owner are gonna have a discussion that will end with me walking out and not paying the bill but also informing the patrons of such a dump of my reasons.

 

Based on John's and Larry's recommendations, we tried Hayahay for lunch yesterday. A real treat. I had the mixed shahimi appetizer and then the tomato based boulibase and had them make it spicy. My wife had a tasty order of lumpias and a nice fried fish. Sat upstairs with a nice breeze and view. Thanks for the recommendations.

 

Co-incidence ..... My wife and I were there too.... spicy Chicken Halang Halang.... Shanghai Rice.... Bangus fillets.... Kang Kong..... did everything but lick the plate

Maybe tomorrow Casablanca????
