Thanks to all for the input. 3 to 5mbps would be good. I think the 12 mbps that was mentioned will be possible only after fiber-optic cables are laid. Now it is mostly available in areas i think around Manila. Is PLDT generally available in nearby cities also such as Valencia or along the highway in Bacong, Dauin, or maybe Sibulan. I ask in case i find a nice place to live in those areas. Thank you and have a great day(night).

    sky broadband

:p Jealous!! Maybe Sky Broadband will eventually hit our area.....but, how much are the plans?? I don't think I want to pay more than I already do (2600 for internet and landline). Oh well, PLDT is our only option right now....and we are content, it is fast enough for what we need to do.

I think the php999 is for the 1 and 1.5 mbps plans if I read it correctly. I wish we could get sky services at our house......maybe one day.................

It is paid for by the U.S. company I work for, otherwise, if I didn't need it, I wouldn't buy it at the level I have. The only limitation, is that, due to where it is available, limits where I can live and do the work I need to do, other than that I have had no problems with the service, and the VOIP phone lines I use work very well. My wife loves the "free" cable also.

Echir: 15 GB per month? for 999 PHP, thats a total ripoff. with 5 Mb I guess I am done in 3 days.

Just my last Metallica pack would cost me 3 month and 6K with the 1999 PHP pack.

had it with my Globe down in 10 days, so 330 PHP and 5.6K left for the next external HD. screw that sky-thingy big time..

    Thanks for the info

If you're subscribed to Netflix, then that speed and data usage allocation is probably not enough...But then 15 GB is around 15 movies a month...Well if you just sit back in your home the whole day, then probably you need more as you have to download a movie each day...

well there are people working on 2 or 3 monitors, no problem watching a movie and working on 2 others.

Skycable is a clear rip of and a ridiculous price for lousy 15/35 GB, what as the matter of fact are 2-3 movies in good quality. while the Metallica Video-pack has 90GB in medium quality.
a 3.5 minute music video has 150 MB in good quality.

The 2 Photoshop Tutorials I just bought have 26 GB. so one additional DI backup a month and the 35 GB are pretty much used without doing anything else.... that is a joke for that high price.
