really hope someone can help me w this: I've been in Dumaguete now for a few weeks, and I still haven't been on a single date... so now I'm wondering if you good people out there can give me some advice - how can I find a good girl in this town.. I'll be staying here for many months, and I really dont wanna be single all that time... So where are good places to go with romantic intentions?? And where should I look on the web?.. are there any free alternatives, has heard about a lot of scams on Fillipinakisses etc. And what is a good way to approach a fillipina.. will they be offended if a foreigner comes up and starts talking to them?? Yeah, I'm a shy guy...
Wanna find a good girl there? May I suggest You attend one of the many church services in town, even if you're not Religious. There's a boatload of beautiful Girls on any given Sunday at the main Cathedral across from the park near McDonalds. Either that, or just sit at one of the tables outside of Sans Rival inside the mall. If you make eye contact with any girls walking by don't be shy, just strike up a conversation by asking them for directions or how to send a text from your phone to hers because you're new at it. That way she'll have your number. Try this a few times and before you know it you'll be receiving more text from these girls than You'll know what to do with.. You could also try going to one of the local beaches on Sunday, that's when many girls seem to get together and go along with families too.. I wouldn't recommend the BLVD, but I'm sure you already know that.. Cheers

Christ mate...what'd ya do? Dip your face in acid? I'm in my late 50's, reasonably fit but ordinary looking, and I get hit on about once a half-hour in Bacolod malls - if I'm by myself. Worse (LOL or better) in Cebu. Good advice from John Reynolds..churches and malls are tops...banks, hospitals too. Nothing wrong with nurses LOL...they take good care of you...been married to one for thirty years. No reason to be shy...not in the Philippines...just get out there and feel free to front up and talk to them. I positively absolutely guarantee they won't complain. Good luck...but you won't need it.
Many will be shy to talk to you much, so meet them where they are at home, in a TEXT message. Have calling cards printed with something simple, such as "Tar Jeix, searching for relationship". Pass them out whenever you see a girl you may be interested in. You will instantly have more dates than you have time for. Forget the internet, most on the net are there for the wrong reasons. Larry
Tarjeix, I may have missed seeing your introduction post and I don't see anything about you in the About Me section, maybe if you shared a little about yourself we would be more comfortable assisting you. Guys come to Philippines and Thailand with different agendas. I can tell you that, for the most part, girls here are nice and different than what you will find in other cities, and may be interested in meeting a "good guy" foreigner. If your intentions are good, good things should happen for you.
I wouldn't recommend the Internet, especially since You're already right there at "Ground Zero".... Although that is how I found My Wife back in 2003 on Cherryblossoms.com. Heck, while We're on the subject of the Internet, another alternative for You would be to tour all the Internet cafes.. There's plenty of Girls in there online searching for BF'S.. Try the downstairs Internet at Mart One, or better yet, Netopia upstairs near the food court inside Robinsons.. I think it was Garbonzo Who had a great idea, and that would be to take a tour of both Holy Child and Silliman Medical Centers.. Lots of Beautiful Nurses in there..cheers!
Try to befriend someone. Stay in localized areas or community. Meet people and friends. Then you can start. Just a suggestion from a local.
