Thinking how the guy at the next table is basically a twin of a good friend of mine in the USA.. My wife and her niece come back from window shopping (shop till HE drops) and they sit for a bit before heading off again.

I forgot all about the guy until my wife is about to get up, so I have her sit again for a few seconds just as the guy's female companion returns to take a look at the guy. Which she does, then after talking about the uncanny resemblance she leaves to window shop some more.

The female companion then gets up, catches up to my wife and says something to her in bad Tagalog about "telling your husband not to be talking about me"!

My wife follows her back to her table to inform her of her error. - The woman is having no part of it and keeps trying to shoe my wife away, but my wife doesn't shoe easily, so she repeats what it was we were talking about a few more times before giving up on the whole thing.

The guy has nothing to say the entire time and sits like an obdeient puppy through it all. As they leave walking past me a few seconds later I say, "Have a nice day". She didn't like that either, but just went by me without looking or saying anything.

Just another day in Bizarro land

Wasn't me, but I agree with the OP. We go there to have lunch together often, not to socialize with the star gazers. If you stare at me, I will not be an obedient puppy.

My wife was in Mercury drug one day when a woman she barely knew came up to her, with her foreigner husband in tow, and proceeded to tell the wife she saw me messing around. My wife, all 4'11'' of her, turned around and slapped the woman and told her to mind her own business! The "husband" just stood there and said nothing. Maybe the same couple?

Sounds like the same couple we have been dealing with for quite some time now.....we have decided the woman has some serious mental illness and the foreigner husband (who has been assaulted by her on more than one occasion) must be afraid of her, and no, he won't step in to stop her from saying or doing things .............we keep hoping they will move back to the states where they came from..............

I wonder... at BDO yesterday, this older, kinda over weight guy is waiting, in the ever long line, and I am back about 6 people. A lady is outside with an irritated attitude... comes in, says something, and goes back outside to continue her pissyness. He hangs onto the post and huffs... Not that well, I'm thinking. As he goes out, there seems to be a friction... Not my business, but I would not be in public with my wife if she acted up like that. There would be a public ego smack down, and the esuing cold, filipina eye, for many a day.

He's not lightweight, but I wouldn't call him overweight if I were describing him.
