Hello! I just barely arrived in Dumaguete and will be here for the next 10 days. I have seen bamboo aquariams and am wondering if anyone knows where any are made in Dumaguete? My various google searches have not yeilded any information but did land me on these forums. Any help would be appreciated thank you! I have found the breakfest to be very nice at Why Not! Was wondering if anyone has any better breakfest destinations? -Ron
I'm happy with bfast at McDonald's. You know what you are getting and I get the senior discount, so I think I eat for less than p100. Coffee there is usually very good as well. Other places charge you more for food cooked to various degrees of satisfaction-depending on who is on duty that day. Bethel cafeteria has a nice view, but I don't like their food, it's kind of bland.
I hope I do not sound too stupid, but what is a bamboo aquarium. I mean bamboo is not that transparent for enjoying fish-watching.... as a plant in an aquarium, Bamboo will rot if submerged and contaminate your aquarium. There is the Chinese "Lucky bamboo" (totally unrelated to bamboo) which can be submerged for several moths.

If you like an American style breakfast, Coco Grande Hotel has a nice American Breakfast on their menu. Also, for good coffee, a light breakfast, and nice view (+ wifi), Mamia's on the blvd is pretty good.
To answer your question Rhoody, the one's that I have seen are glass framed with bamboo, with a bamboo stand, and matching bamboo top that house the light. They are more of a bamboo themed aquarium than an aquarium made from bamboo.
thanks, got it I don't think they are serial production. In Dumaguete are at least 2 bamboo-shops in real street lefthand side which frame you about anything you bring there with bamboo, tanks, computers, wifes.. ) A bit later on the right side is that bamboo-place for cheap beds and cabinets, they also make custom-work, well they have people in south Negros doing that.
that is a plywood frame and bamboo-stripes nailed on it. If you can make an easy to understand simple plan, each carpenter will make you one. No Bamboo-specialist needed. if you have the time, it is not hard to do it by yourself.
