i'd like to have a few ¾'' thick boards accurately cut, does anyone know of a woodshop with a tablesaw? a 8'' bench top saw would do the job.

There are a couple of made to order furniture shops on the South highway. I'll see if I can get you the names, and/or location of them the next time I go by them.

    gracias amigo,
general directions like mtn side of the road past what's-his-name's store just before the what's-it's-name gas station type directions would do.

You can also go to most lumber yards on the hiway. South hiway has a number of them, about 2-3 k past Robinson's Mall.

building a (gorgeous) stripper kayak, huh! i looked into that once and decided it was too much work/time so i built a couple of skin on frame kayaks : ) i've also built stitch and glue kayaks and stripper canoes. i'm thinking of building a wine glass wherry when i get a place of my own but the small bankas look interesting and much, much simpler.

good luck finding someone to do your milling, after looking around a bit, i decided to cut my little tortilla press project out with a fine toothed japanese pull saw and sand the components to the line. i bought several bamboo cutting boards to cut up for the project and was disappointed at what looked like a 3-ply cutting board, is actually skinned with edge glued bamboo and the center ply is partially filled with sawdust board so i put the project on the shelf and hand rolled the tortillas.

pmail me if you wanna talk about your project.
