I have friends down the road to Sta Monica. I wonder how that road and houses along it was during the deluge?

3 day advance warning before Sendong hit us... This site gives better weather news than PAGASA and even makes us prepared for the typhoon better than the local disaster team of the city.

Does anyone know if the ATM'S in town are up and running Today? The Wife was having trouble Yesterday, which was very understandable given the weather conditions and brownouts all over the Island.....

Just look for long queues in town, at the head there'll be an ATM or two.

It is very unfortunate for such a city of gentle people is going through a devastation like this. I am planning to retire very soon and live in Dumaguete hopefully in the next 7 years. By then, the city officials, ie starting from the top, the mayor, to the bottom, city employees, will get their SH!T together, there are the ones that failed the people of DGTE. Just saw a picture of a local DGTE father
holding his 2 year old dead daughter. His face expression represents in what the people of DGTE feels. LESSONS LEARNED, LESSONS LEARNED from the 2009 flood??? I think not. Hopefully the city officials take this seriously this time, so that they can focus on fixing the infrastructure, starting from the main drainage system to implementing an emergency action plan. STOP pocketing the cities budget!!!!!

this year australia and pakistan through to india and then thailand all had so much flooding and they didnt even have such severe storms,,the water carried in the atmosphere as storms move is increasing and the rainy season in philippines never took a break in 1.5 years...I'm back in USA now cause the rain always made cough and flu like symptoms for me for daily over a year...I still concern that even USA may have its dose of denser rains coming, but south east asia and surrounding areas are some of the rainiest places.. My friend from hawaii was in oslob cebu area when it happened and had to go back to CDO to help his girls family out from standing on the roof to survive the flood there and worse in cagayan,,hes lucky and wouldnt even hear the flood or rain, beacuse hes deaf....wish you guys well recovery there and in this day and age, where in the world is safe from this kind of mess???

No water for two days and no power for more than one day because of typhoon Sendong. I hope nothing of this sort will happen again.
