Banilad Road - Santa Monica Resort For those asking about the The Santa Monica Resort area on Banilad Road survived well. There was nt power for about 18 hours, all is dry and power up for the last 30 hours. Winds have even been light here compared to in town. I am about 300 meters off of high tide.
This is a real mess,visited valencia on sun only to see total devastation,the road after valencia cock pit by the pools is completly gone along with the swim pools.did not make it to forest camp but aparently nearly gone also. There are cars stuck the other side with no way out now as the spillway up toward the japanese shrine has also gone,the bridge down river has gone and the bridge below that is so badly damaged it will be closed for a long time. i feel sorry for the kids who have nothing now,just to see them say where their homes used to be was so sad,we have everything we need and it makes me feel so guilty,gave a few kids some cash for some food,but cannot give to them all :{
A friend rode to Dauin Hot Springs, but it has been wiped out. He was told they might be back in business in 6 mos
Check this out... so sad, it brings a tear to the eye.
I reckon most of the tourist spots around Duma gone now,forest camp I thinks has gone,baslay hot spring gone,pulangbato prob gone but not accessible by rd,caseroro falls was hit by a storm a few weeks ago and was a landslide there and some of the path was gone,dread to think how it is now!
I am shocked at he devastation there in DUM, it has really made me think twice about relocation there, i never knew it was in the typhoon belt, Hope those affected can rebuild their lives. Could anyone please advise if the damage was the whole area from city to valencia, to dauin beach? Seems such a brutal storm
