After 3 disappointing lawn crews , I have decided that I just need to purchase a push reel mower and mow my own lawn. I haven't even started looking yet, but does anybody sell them here in Dumaguete? Thanks!!

Uy Matiao sells different kinds of mowers, including push/reel mowers.

Unless your lawn is quite level, however, you won't like the results from using any kind of mower. I use a Stihl brand weed eater, myself. It does a satisfactory job.

    grass

was supposed to be pure bluegrass, but got screwed and they mixed bermuda, couldn't get it all replaced, but they did fix some. Aso, lots of weeds because we can't find reliable lawn crew.

    ground

The ground is pretty level...I think a mower would work fine, however, I know I would eventually want a trimmer for the corners and edges, too.

The push mowers they sell there will maybe last one year. Absolute junk. Better off w/ a weedeater.

By 'weedeater' do you mean strimmer/brushcutter? I guess if its Stihl then it must be . Its certainly the tool of choice for grass cutting here although clearly it wasnt designed for that purpose. As a landscape gardener I would only use a rotary mower. I got mine at uymatiao about 6 years ago but it does have a Briggs and Stratton engine which will run for years if you look after it. For large flattish areas it gets the job done quickly and neatly. I guess if you only have a small patch of lawn you might get by with an old stylr manual mower but I didnt know they still made them
