It is not the City, it is the rule. I use the online check-in and come 30 Minutes before departure and get my seat, maybe you witnessed me.

Seeing your style of posting I truly understand if one says: "No Tichekt, go away...", I question who of the involved was arrogant at first. Don't make that girl responsible for the unability of you and your friend of using given utilities like remote check-in or reading a watch proper to be in time.

Missed flights at any discount airlines can't be rebooked and are not refundable, where you get that weird idea from.
You can twist and turn it each way, it is your fault and nobody elses.

A couple of questions come to mind. Are the CP flights out of Duma usually full or was this an unusual day? Was the clerk looking for a 'tip' to get the late arriving passenger onto the plane? Was the traveler on an economy ticket? Booking online I have noticed many times that the economy tickets are sold out for a couple of days but full fare tickets are still available. Did the traveler ask if there were any full fare tickets available?

I ask these questions because I may need to travel from Dumaguete in the near future. I have traveled frequently on Cebu Pacific from other terminals and followed the rules they set down. To date, the only problem I have encountered is late departure times.

    Hi Dave;

We have traveled numerous times to/from Manila/Dumaguete on CP, and a few times on PAL (usually considerably more expensive), and have had no problems. Most flights seem to be within 15 minutes of being on time, which is close enough for me. Of course, we are at the airport on time too.

Let me make this clear, this was not about my friend being late. I admit its his fault or our fault for arriving late to the airport. We didnt expect to be late driving from the travel based itself about 2 hours traveling time to the city of Dgte on that day. Late is late as I said I totally understand that.

But what sadden me was the situation how the customer service rep on the airport deal with us, since they didnt allow us to check in ( I totally understand why* reason LATE) . So we made a simple request in a friendly way and begging her *CS rep*... asking her to rebook us on the next flight on the next day since my friend got a connecting flight abroad on the evening of the next day. We dont mind how it cost. I dont know whats her *CS rep* problem on that day serving us arrogantly. Unfortunately, we were told there will be no tickets available for the next 2 succeeding days because it was fully-booked she said arrogantly as she check on the computer a couple of times as if she was push to check it. Fortunately, when we purchase outside their office, we were told there are lots of seats for the flight on the next day.

As a customer service rep. she should be friendly, accommodating and helpful enough to any customer either rich or poor. I voice out because at our back of the line some customers were saying things like this always happens specially if the customer looks poor. What questions my mind, what happened to people who are just scared to talk back. What about those maids/yaya's/ boy whom their so called boss or amo will only give them a ticket for 1 trip and they're late? What will happened to them? People who only have money just for one ride. people who got emergency situation like attend burials, connecting flight, DFA appointment or Embassy appointments. 'cmon this is not a rich country this is a third world country. They should consider tickets to be refunded or at least part of it will be returned. Imagine they sold your seat to a new passenger and you dont get refunded. I wish they should considered some things here on this city specially we got a limited flights *only got 2 flights for cebu pac /day unlike other cities where they got flight every 30mins or every hour or 2.

I have always heard that Cebu Pacific routinely overbooks all of their flights, so if you are the tiniest bit late you are quite likely to get your seat sold, but if you check in early and/or at least show up plenty early it shouldn't be a problem.

thanks for profing my point earlier about aroganz..

you guys messed it up and thats it, there is no refund when you are to stupid to be somewhere in time. I went once to a concert a day late, guess what, they did not give one cent back and even more arrogant, the band refused to play there again the next day for me.

if people only have money for one flight, they better be in time!
if they are your style and come 1.5 hours late, they simply deserve not better and additional costs should be deducted from their salary or their @ss kicked out from their working place.

If the problem is an accident, your tickets have numbers on it to call to clarify stuff, modern phones let you go online and check in
If the problem is being to stupid to read a watch and to be in time like in your case, one doesn't deserve any better !

If you have a schedule, keep on time and no problem.

The one and only source of any problem are you and your friend in this case, not CP, not the airport, simply you and your friend ! Your arroganz blaming others for your own mess up makes one throw up.

Blaming others for own mistakes ?
At least in that you guys are world-champion.

What I do if I have to catch my international flight in Manilla , I take a day before the EARLY morning flight from Dumaguete to Manilla.
And when you going early in the morning to the airport , the roads are not so full off trafic.
I am always on time at the airport, and after getting my boarding pass I go outside and take a drink someting to eat and wait for the plane, so it is all a matter of time and beeing on time.
And stay one night over in Manilla
So if there is a problem with any flight CB or PAL I have more time to oranize another flight the same day in Dumaguete.

    Greetings J.Diver

I agree. CP sucks and would be illegal in many nations... However, one must arrive 2-3 hours ahead of time. Just like RORO or Supper Ferry.

The guy is at fault for being a nub...

What Newbie27 is trying to say is that she admits that the friend was LATE. He has to wear the consequence for this.

It is the customer service side that she is commenting on where the employee should have been more resourceful and perhaps sold another ticket rather than being in control and playing games with customers and enjoying watching them plead for a ticket or alternative.

I think that friend would have accepted the fact that the ticket is non refundable and was desperate to purchase a flight regardless in order to connect in manila for the JAL flight.

They managed to book a flight via Robinsons who were more than helpful to sell a ticket.

I agree with everyone else though, never leave everything to the last minute...arrive early and allow for delays. Utilising the Filipino 'time' method can create headaches.....
