There used to be an ant chalk that would send ants into convulsions as soon as they touched it. This Baygon chalk doesn't seem to bother them at all. Any stores selling the good stuff?
Ants My experience with the chalk is they just learn to go around it...find a new route......I have had good luck using the citrus oil-based Baygon protector spray. I spray it around the outside of my doors and anywhere I see them coming in, but it needs to be re-applied every couple of weeks. I also use terro, mixed with peanut butter or jelly and place that it in a lid where ever I am having problems with them and let them eat on that for awhile, they take that back to the nest and it will eventually kill out the nest. I tried the vinegar trick, but that didn't seem to work for me. I follow their paths, see where they are coming into the house and use an all purpose sealant to plug up any holes they are sneaking in. I tried pouring boiling water on the nest, but their nests are so extensive they just rebuild right away. Anybody with ideas, I am sure most of us are dealing with ants on a daily basis and appreciate any good suggestions...I try any and all, personally!!
Ant Killing Chalk Hi. I just bought some the other day at UniTop in Duma - P2.75 ea........I think. I also buy them at Red Star in Tanjay....a Chinese owned store. I suggest you check in UniTop or any Chinese 'General Merchandise' store in Duma. At UniTop, the chalk is called " Craie Insecticide Miraculeuse"..in a small orange and yellow box. At Red Star, the same box is called "Miraculous Insecicide chalk" Plainly says "Made In China" on the box, with lots of Cinese lettering on it. At eac h end of the small box, it says 'MISTIC'. ALL I KNOW IS....IT WORKS GREAT!! The anys will NOT cross the chalk line. Period.
I agree with Don, The one Chinese product that really works is the ant chalk. Just be very careful if you have young children around, it looks just like the chalk kid's love to play with and it's deadly. Ron
Ron, Thanks for that 'caution' about kids getting it - as it does look exactly like chalk! Not having any kids around for some years now, I often forget to caution folks about the bad things that children would love to get hold of! Thanks.....and BTW - thanks again for your opening up of your lovely home to a stranger (me) when needed. (See my 'Update' as to my FORMER slipped disk/severe back pain problem...you won't believe how I got it fixed!) LOL!!
