I copied the following from this forum, but I don't know which route is the best. Any comments on these routes would be appreciated: There are basically 3 main routes to Bacolod across the mountains. As you say the Mabinay-Kabankalan turn off just north of Bais city. The second is just after Vallehermoso, via Canla-on city, La Castellana/La Carlota city. The third previously mentioned too, is just on the southern outskirts of San Carlos city, via (Don)Salvador Benedicto. Thanks
Depends how fast you want to make the trip, the quickest way is Bais - Kabankalan - Bacolod. Road is good after you get up the first hill after Bais where there is some construction going on. Trip time is around 2 1/2 hrs if you give er.. Going via San Carlos - Don Salvador Benedicto is quite a bit longer around 4 hours but there is some nice scenery on the way and the road is good except for around 20kms before San Carlos..I haven't been via Canla-on but i hear the road is new and in good condition but imagine its still going to work out at 3 hours +.
