Well I agree that some people have a lot more trouble adjusting than others.

Yes, and contrary to some quick witted replies it may not even mean leaving the Philippines. I have tried a living in 2 different provinces and am on my way to living in a third. There are many differences and you don't really have to dislike a place to leave it, maybe you just want to try different places.

As an illustration, I have had many people tell me that Makati is like living in the US. And that's right here in the Philippines. For me, I want to give Dumaguete an honest try. 10,000 foreigners can't be wrong. (At first glance it seems like there are that many here but the number is just a guess.)

I continue to be entertained by all of the complaints about the food here. We are living in a foreign country, people! Are the restaurants supposed to change their chefs and menus to cater to US? I don't think so.

I chose to move here to experience new things, new people, new food, and that's exactly what I'm getting. I couldn't be happier.

I have only one complaint about the food here, I eat too much of it!

If it wasn't the food they were complaining about, it would be something else. Some people are just going to be miserable no matter what.

That would be great but we would have to shanghai Bob to cook it. At least he is the only one I know who does the job well. I was hoping you still have the occasional Hash here, even once a month or two would be nice. Keep me informed if there is any hash activity in the future.
