Thursday, February 9, 2012 THE newly designated chief of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Davao City warned Filipinas against extorting from their foreigner husbands. "Do not use our office as a vehicle to harass foreigners," said Florentino G. Diputado, new BI Davao acting alien control officer. Have something to report? Tell us in text, photos or videos. Diputado, who is acting alien control officer of BI Cagayan de Oro before he assumed the Davao post on February 6, said there were many instances when Filipinas file complaints before their office claiming to be battered wives. He said not all complaints are held true based on BI investigation. "Case-to-case basis kasi kami," he said, adding they would immediately call the attention of the foreigners involved and give his right to defend themselves. He said they would later find out that most complaints were extortion related. Wikipedia.com defines extortion as not only the unlawful demanding and obtaining of something through force, but additionally, in its formal definition, the infliction of something such as pain and suffering or making somebody endure something unpleasant. He said some Filipinas take advantage of their alien partners by filing a complaint and request their office to classify foreigners as undesirable aliens. Diputado added that they do not dwell much on the personal issues of the couple. He said they are more concerned with the status of the foreigners, whether they possess the required papers and do not overstay in the country. He said as long as the foreigners do not violate the immigration laws, their office holds no jurisdiction over other things involving the aliens. Nice article and true enough. However how many other BI offices feel the same way and how many police stations feel the same way?
Dear Brian...it seems like you are scared when it comes to females, or maybe worse....you hate females. Live alone and be happy! Pulis spells POLICE and Prosicuter spells PROSECUTOR and FEMALE JUDGES. not Woman Judges just a little correction.
Wonder why the Police in Dumaguete have PULIS emblazoned on their blue shirts. Just a little observation, (along with the word "not" should start with a capital letter as it is after a full stop, and between Judges and just there should either be a comma or a full stop and capital J on just).
Don't forget to count your blessings Well, the men of Dumaguete should all be grateful that some man has donated his balls to the cause for the sanity of the rest of us and is T………’s companion. Otherwise we may be the person who gets to receive her venom 24 hours a day, instead of only when she makes her posts. It seemed like Brian got off lucky as he only got jail, he could have been married to "T".
Hi Torilian, I'm surprised to see you back in the "male chatroom"! But looking at the thread title - "Filipinas told Don't scam foreigner husbands" - was probably too much of a red rag to a bull! How dare Davao's new Bureau of Immigration chief say something that appears to support some of the warning's that other Duma Info members have previously posted. Instead of focusing on the threads where you can vent your frustration on the next guy who isn't venerating the female existence, maybe you would care to look through previous posts in this forum where you will inevitably see that the majority of the Long Noses are head over heels in love with their Asawas, and can't believe that life can be so good to them.
Also the CAPS=shouting at someone. I thought Gentle People resided in Dumaguete. I guess with exception.
Torilian, are you advocating that Brian live alone and just use the filipinas ? I don't believe you thought your post out very well. I think most men are wired to seek the company of women. If Brian follows your advice, I do not think the result will be one you are in favor of. Perhaps you would like to expand on that statement so I could better understand your intent ?
