Of all the restaurants I ate in during my visit there, the best place was this small carinderia up in Valencia. We had about 13 people with us, and everyone ate very well including desert. The total tab came to P800, which was pleasantly surprising.
The place was on a corner street, after entering you go down about 4 steps. Theres a garden out front, but thats about what I can remember. Can anyone identify this place as we are planning to go there when we visit in about 2 months....Just to let you know the second best place I ate in were the fishballs and tempuras along the boulevard against my wife's advice....She thought my stomach wouldn't hold up but I was there every night. 20 f/b and 10 tempuras set me right.

Sounds like Estrella's. If it has a plant nursery connected to it, that is Estrella's. I would take Filipino food from Estrella's over that offered at Cafe Laguna or one of the fancier Filipino food places anyday!

    Ate at Estrella's today

After reading the forum, I decided to try to find Estrellas and give it a try. Today was the second time I have eaten there. The Filipiono food is as good as I have eaten, but no one has mentioned the price. I took my Filipino-American landlord, he was amazed at the prices. We both had rice, with 5 dishes between us, two bottles of water and 7up too. The grand total was 220 pesos. By the way, there is a sign saying it is only open until 8 PM. It located to the south of the park one block, southwest corner of the park, or just ask anyone in town, that is what I did the first visit I even purchased a some string beans to go for another 20 pesos...
