Is it cheaper to just buy an LCD tv in Dumaguete, than buy one in the states then send it via LBC? The price range here for a 32 inch is from $220-$330. Its about a 2 month transport and cost $55 to ship.

My wife saw one at Du Ex Sam that was computer ready for around P15,000, but not sure of the brand. I will take a look in the next few days.

not a tv but i recently bought a LG monitor and dashboard camera from a korean vender on Ebay with 100% feedback and he shipped it direct to the fils free in less than 2 weeks. it was the best i'net price i could find on both items at that time.

another option that looks good is http://www.dhgate.com. the seller doesn't get paid til you receive the stuff and approve it.

    norm : ))~

I think it probably cheaper to buy and ship from the US (although don't forget to check the input voltage) but I have never done it due to Customs concerns (getting hit with a big import duty).

Be very wary using postal mail for anything valuable. I have had two packages lost in the Philippine postal system.

32inch are a generally cheap product now, and prices drop here almost bi-weekly.
taking the shipping cost, the maybe-voltage issues, maybe defect arrival, no warranty here and the price (which will be probably fall in 2 month waiting time to the same you paid in the US) there is absolutely no point in sending it and hoping to save a few $.

    Last week offer:
Panasonic Viera 32" HDTV LCD 18k
    - 10%
plus sound system (single sales price 3.5k)
and a person to go back and yell at if something does not work as described.

Thanks for the reply fellas....Just came back from LBC express and was told that the handling charge just to ship the TV is usd300 but it is only up to a 46 inch...Then the size will be measured and charged accordingly...If you decide to bring it in yourself, customs duty is 50% and if you dont have the receipt, theyll base it on how much its being sold in the PI...
But if the tv is coming from the middle east, LBC says its less duty? Seein that the tv I want to bring in cost P48000 there, I think its better to send it through LBC, but might as well go for the max 46 inch LED 3D instead of the 32 I had planned...
