Everything I can find online says that 5 hectare is the max under CARP. Where are you finding the 2.5 hectare number? David
Under CARP Filipinos can own 5 hectares of farm land. For former Filipinos (born in Philippines but lost Citizenship) the situation is different. Look here:Land Ownership by Foreigners / Former Filipino Citizens | Embassy of the Philippines in Singapore
Thanks Firefly. Four or five hectares is plenty for my needs. I am planning to do a pig farm. My wife has some experience with pigs and people will always need food. I am planning to implement a free range rotational strategy where most of the feed is grown as forage crops and the animals are moved to a fresh pasture area once a month. This plan needs a little more than 2.5 hectares, so that concerned me. I think I may also try to plant Mango trees in the pasture and put a tree guard around them and just let them grow while focusing on the pig business. Ultimately mature Mango trees add a lot of value to your land. Every year the trees grow your land value grows right along with them! In 10 years I could ditch the pig business and focus on Mangos.
Dont fear NPA they're good if you're good....Fear those local hold upper, swindler, scammer and corrupt officials at the sea level area.
