local tourist = Pinoy, if your not Pinoy then your a foreign.
Its angenda to encourage local tourist to travel in the Philippines instead of going abroad. Its like your a Senior Citizen and you get 20% discounts. This kind of policy is not new.

nope it is not new that foreigners get overcharged in the Philippines.... no matter in what field of business.

in other places locals need to pay less, like if they are Dauin residents and go swimming in the ocean where the sanctuaries are or visit Apo, tourists pay more (no matter if foreigner or pinoy)

I highly doubt that any pinoy is choosing Dumaguete as a tourist destination because he/she safes a few peso on entrance to see some lakes.

Just one thing the girls with the boats down at the lake with boats etc are nothing to do with denr, that is run by the local village farmer coop! Inc boats, cottages, resto, when sendong hit and the rd was closed for sometime they had no income, just sit down with them and chat as a friendly bunch and always offer us some of their food.
Also I disagree with the foreigner tax and have expressed dissatisfaction to them at the gate and all they said was go to denr and complain.

I don't like it either, especially the no swimming and diving rules at these fresh water lakes. People swim in the ocean anywhere without worries about life guards.

Not much reason to drive the 13.5km as far as I am concerned

On the other hand, FL residents pay less at DisneyWorld than people from out of state

which is fair enough as they probably go multiple times a season and spend money. Dauin & Apo w/ Dauin residents get also discounts for swimming and diving there. In Germany it is usually limited to smaller regions or cities. You get for example a museum-pass and get discount in museums and exhibitions

However in this case, we talk about 10 times higher price for aliens. so they need to attract 10 local tourists to compensate 1 pissed off foreigner. and it does not stop there as the alien usually spends multiple time the dollars compared to a local tourist.

The same foreign tourist pays 25 peso at the chocolate hills and only a few for tarsiers in Bohol (which are both real tourist attractions compared to the lake), with a great infrastructure where he gets a private car well organized for that tour including tarsier, chocolate hills, hanging bridge, Loboc river (300 w/ lunch) etc for 2500 peso each day, whenever he wants, even upon arrival at the pier immediately w/ transfer to the hotel on Alona at the end of the tour.

The foreign tourist does not care at all who is in charge of that rip off, but he certainly pass along the experience how foreigner-friendly the we here in Negros are.

Adding to that all the experience with porters, trike-driver and specially his arrival and departure on the state-of-the art airport in Manila he will certainly ticks it off as a "been there - done that" experience unless he is into the only 2 real tourist attractions the PI has to offer (one of them is diving)

I am a local but definitely i would disagree with this.... this plain and simple stupidity for some people who try to implement this program... this is ridiculous and it can never be reasonable.
