shipping my motorcycle

Just throwing this on the table....If I disassemble my bike, piece by piece, and box it up in a balikbayan box to avoid an outrageous customs duty, is it possible to register once it gets to Dumaguete and assembled?

 

yes if you know someone but its getting harder all the time

 

chances are u will lose it at customs and if you do get it through and reassembled you might never get or/cr and might lose it in an lto or pnp check. Many good bikes for sale..motorcyclephilippines.com...safer and already here. Good luck

 

USA and PI customs are xraying balikbayan boxes. If you did do it, you'd want to send it in as many boxes as possible.

One guy here in Dgte has some bikes he got in, but he's going to register them in Mindanao. Making them almost impossible to sell to anyone who is aware that bikes registered there are a problem.

Bais LTO will not touch vehicles registered in Mindanao.

 

Yes, I plan on sending everything in as many boxes and it will be in a span of 1-2 years. I'm attached to my bike and did too much to it already to sell it here. I just cant do it. lol I am going to start the process next month starting with the wheels and go from there. Thanks

 

Regardless, you will have to shown a customs receipt in order to register/license it.

You're not one of those "darkside" riders are you, with a car tire on the back?

How do you like your pipe wrap? The majority of what I have found about it recently is negative. People complaining of pipes disintegrating etc.

Then I saw something about VW guys complaining their engines ran hotter with it on.

I took mine off today and went for a ride; I'd swear it's running cooler without it...

 

hmmmmm, I cant grease any palms there??? Lol...but seriously, this mindanao registry is legit and possible? Also no, I will never use a car tire on a bike. Thats crazy.

 

I wrap the pipes to.keep the heat in. my bike loves running hot and at high gear. it also keeps my right calf from burning...Im not sure about pipe disintegrating. Maybe they left the wrap on too long and it rusted out. U know the wrap has to be wet in order to apply then it has to be started to force it to dry.

 

LOL, I used to ride with a bunch of "darksiders". The problem with car tires is they are a much harder compound,... which means no traction on a motorcycle. A few of them got pretty good at spinning cookies, with 1200 cc Harleys. Yup, they were a crazy bunch.
