    Neo Netbook

My wife has a Neo netbook with 2mb RAM and 320 mb hard drive. It's a year old and it has been great. Saw it at Octagon for P12,999. Also has web cam and built in WIFI.

Sorry to have to say this, but my wife has a Neo, 2mb ram, 320 hd - and the monitor has already burned out in less than 2 years! We had to buy a new external monitor for her.
    Sorry.

CDR King ... cough, cough, choke, barf ... gasp ... crap crap crap crap from China ... they still write handwritten receipts! Does that tell you anything about their operation? I have never had anything from there last more than 30 days.

you mean like all that overpriced Apple stuff ?

90% of the OR's in Dumaguete are handwritten, aren't they.

of course you can go across to Octagon and buy the exact same DVD-R or Keyboard (at Octagon it has A4TECH printed on it), photo-paper for almost double price... 3 of my 4 flashdrive from CDR King are working perfect (One gave up when I opened a SMB with it), as does my battery-pack work fine (which is exactly the same as a 1500 peso more expensive from a reputable computer-store, just with another sticker on the housing) since 2 years. Router was bought in Manila 4 years ago at them, no problems at all.... maybe it's Karma ?

Wouldn't buy monitor, graphic-cards etc. there, but for a lot of stuff, one must be either rich or un-smart (the polite version of stupid) to waste money and go somewhere else to pay a lot more for the exact same item ..

Speaking of Tablets, I bought one for my brother from DHGate.com (China) for under $200 including shipping: 10 inch, 1Gig Ram, 1Ghz processor, 16 meg memory, GPS antenna, Android 2.3, HDMI output. They are now shipping similar ones at the same price with Android 4 and 2 cameras (front and back). If you buy from them, try to use a company that ships with EMS, Hong Kong Post, or China Post Air. Although it may take a bit longer to get here, you only pay Php40 for Customs Duty at the post office instead of the full customs fees if you ship with DHL or other.

My brother likes the Tablet (he has had it for 5 months); his only complaint is the lack of instructions on how to use Android, (I found the small instruction book here in the box that he left behid)

That is a very similar report of my friends in Cebu on the one I linked to. I will be ordering one as soon as the piggy bank fills up some.

There is a place that sells used computers - laptops and desktops, on the left corner as you go over the new bridge just past the Ceres terminal.

That's great, but I am curious what city you are talking about, because your directions make no sense as applied to Dumaguete.
