    One gets a shock.

In November of last year we purchased a new HP printer in Cebu. We only bought it in Cebu because the local stores all appeared to be "no stock" at the time of the model we wanted, and, it was several hundred pesos cheaper in Cebu. The store we bought it at told us there was a one week "replacement" warrantee, and a one year warrantee overall wherein we would most likely have to send it to the factory, ... so typical of here in the land of smiles.

Well as luck would have it, this printer was a lemon, and gave us multiple problems form the first week. (Sure, we are going to run it back to Cebu within days of purchase!) We have had 4 HP printers here in the RP previous to buying this one. All were among the best printers I have ever owned, and much cheaper than many I have purchased in the past.

We were in Cebu last week and went into the place of purchase to inquire. Sure, just bring it in and we will fix it or send it in. We got the address so we could ship it to them, at a cost of P1500+.

So figuring that we would be out of a printer for a few weeks, I thought we would simply buy a cheap one to use in the meantime. We entered Ace Logic. The cheapest printer on the shelf was P2100+. On a whim I asked if there was an HP authorized service center in Dumaguete, and was surprisingly referred to DGtech.

Now we have bought some things in the past from DGtech, mostly low cost items. Their prices are generally very competitive, but I have never had the misfortune of dealing with their customer service before.

So we entered, and after wandering around a bit inside, when the opportunity became available we talked to the lady at the service counter. She confirmed that they were an authorized HP agent, and would happily help us to resolve our problem. My thoughts were, "Sure..."

I spent 20 minutes typing out the problems we have had with the printer, and showed up with it at DG tech on Tuesday afternoon about 4:30. She read what I had written, asked us if we had used any non HP cartridges in it, (we had not) and informed us that they would replace the printer at no cost. They did not have one in stock so would have to order it from Manila, and it should be available for pickup within 48 hours, as it would come in by airfreight.

I was stunned. I haven't seen anyone who would warrantee a product that someone else had sold in the 9 years I have been here. Usually to get someone to honor their OWN warrantee is a battle.

This afternoon, sure enough, we got a text from them, our new printer was available for pickup.

It appears that I have been overlooking DGtech in the past, but I assure you that they will become a first stop on computer related purchases in the future.

One big ATTABOY for DGTECH, on Perdices!

Glad to see someone else appreciates them too. I also went in to DGTech last month. I have two HP printers, one new and one a bit older. I needed a new power cable for the older one. Depending on the model, the power leads are different sized connections and colour coded. Gave the model details to the lady on the service desk and she said to come back in an hour or so. She would look through her box of spares and see what was there. I duly went back later, she proudly held up the power lead that she had found saying " I have tested the lead and it seems ok". Cost ?? NOTHING. "Please take it with our compliments and I hope your printer is trouble free". Took it home and it works perfectly. Amazing customer service. They get my business too from now on.

    Out of stock

I went to DGtech for printer ink for my Canon printer AFTER going to every store in town including the one I bought it at. They had three of the five needed but ordered and delivered the last two colors in two days. Three of the other stores claimed that they could not get them because the supplier was (OUT OF STOCK!) DGtech didn't and hasn't had any such problems with their supplier being (OUT OF STOCK!)

DGtech not only has my vote they have my business.

    DGtech, Warrenty Happiness

At DGtech we can walk in and open boxes, examine the product, read the manual and no sales drone/guard bothers us. We can buy it or politely repack and return it to the shelf.

We needed two UPS's with AVR built in and auto-shutdown of our computers during a power failure. The Ablerex units we bought at DGtech 4 years ago are still working fine with only new batteries added recently.

The warrenty services we've had in Philippines has been amazing. An APC Smart-UPS we bought in States had a problem. APC Philippines air-freighted a new one here to Duma just asking us to return the bad unit for which they prepaid in the same box.

We were asked to pay the Manila postage for a Seasonic ATX power supply that croaked under the 5-year warrantee, it would have been free if we'd purchased it here. With the price difference we still came out ahead. :D :D
