Looking to buy a dry chemical fire extinguisher 3-5 kilo size.

We went to the today store that begins with an "O " but they made us wait so long while they went somewhere to get one out of the warehouse that we finally just left. We even inquired twice as to how long we were going to have to wait. It had already been 20 minutes and my asawa even spoke with the managerette to no avail. Some people apparently have too much business. What they seem to forget is WE don't "need" them, but they do need "us"as a customer, or they do not exist, but we still do.
So has anyone seen fire extinguishers any place else in the Dumaguete general area ?

Yes, correct. It's right across from the Agan An turn off right beside the runway.

I had an extinguisher at home here for about a decade...never used. Did a fire-fighting course at work and thought maybe I should finally test the home unit. Pulled the pin, squeezed the handle, and....it just slowly dribbled out the front...useless...would have struggled to handle a match. Had to run out to the main hardware store here and got TWO new ones to cover the entire house...I hope. Don't trust old extinguishers....and at the very least test - and if needed refill or replace them.

Polaris does still sell fire extinguishers. It is located on Silliman Ave (at the west end, right side). That is the road that runs perpendicular from the Blvd. between Blue Monkey Grill and Siliman Hall.

I used to teach fire extinguishing classes. If you test a dry chemical extinguisher, the dust will not allow the valve to re seal and all the pressure will leak out in a matter of minutes.

Correct, you shouldn't "test" fire extinguishers, if the seal is off the pin, get rid of it or get it recharged and resealed.
