Does anybody here know where we can find a ready made pie crust in Dumaguete? I've seen pie fillings in cans in the supermarkets but have never seen a ready made pie dough.

That's one of the fun things living here,, if you can't find it why don't you just make your own,, in the years living here we have learned to make many of our favourite food and certainly a lot better quality and cheaper than the store bought stuff..

... you just need a multi-purpose kitchen machine, capable to make perfect crust (also sandwich maker rice-cooker and coffee-maker ).... add apple, raisins, cashew nuts, rum and a bit cinnamon, perfect apple pie... done....

I have been baking home made pies since I was 12 years old, my grandmother taught me, candies also. A problem here is The crisco is very expensive and have not had good luck with the cheaper local shortening. A couple years back I did do a thanks giving right, turkey baked ( orange) sweet potatoes, dressing all the fixings as in the sates, and Yep pies. Splurged on the criso once. I still have one problem here, the meringue, Its not light and fluffy. I have tried everything I can. Came to the conclusion its the watery egg whites. hahaha View attachment 8515 .
