I am planning on buying an Apple laptop for the first time. Does anyone have any pros/cons on the Macbook Pro? Thanks
Not sure what you mean with Macbook Pro 15. I guess you mean a display of 15.4". There are several models with this qualification and the best, and most expensive is with a Retina display (The same as the new Ipad) For some more information and price in US look at the website of Best Buy (right now Apple Macbook in promotion) Best Buy - Computers, Video Games, TVs, Cameras, Appliances, Phones
Why don't you just walk into their Shop in Robinsons and look and ask, it's still for free as much as I know... the asking I mean, of course for their OVERPRICED products you will pay much to much...
What has the size to do with performance and reliability and why would I like to seat 2m or 7 feet away from my monitor which you probably would have to do with that size 24", by the way that's larger than our TV 21"...
The price difference buying a MacBook Pro 13" 2.9 ghz is about US$250 more at iStore here than buying from Apple in the US, not considering US sales tax and using 42 as the exchange rate.
Not a bad price...probably a little cheaper than here. We've been using Mac's at home for twenty years. Currently we each have Mac Mini's (about $700 here) hooked up to 24" Samsung's LED's, external LaCie DVD/CD drives, and Mac keyboard and mouse. All up - under a thousand each. Go very well and a cheap entry into the Mac world. Workmate just bought the MacBook Pro 15" to run some genetics software and is very pleased with it. Definitely a convert! Do have an ASUS netbook for traveling and some of the wife's nursing software. Otherwise it sits next to the stereo system and lives as a digital radio....currently piping Kiss FM in Lucena throughout the house.
I worked for IBM so we had to use IBM's and then Lenovo laptops (when they sold off their PC Company) so never got into Mac's. One time IBM had an employee purchase plan where you could buy a laptop for the family, can't remember if it was IBM or lenovo at the time, so I bought one then my next trip to Computerworld store found out I could have bought the same thing there for $400 less. Go Big Blue.
PAt don't give in to the dark side! LOL. I'm a PC guy too. I did not work for IBM but fixed my share of IBM and Lenovo laptops as well as other brands. I worked with a few Mac's at customers when they were connected to the windows network. I know lots of people like them so they must be doing something right. If you get one be sure to give us a review. P.S. My wife and her friend said they sat with you at McDonalds the other day.
