I wasn't going to post on this, but we had a problem with a parking boy at SUMC about a year. Whether or not it was Jesus or not I don't know, but reading the reports about his attitude sure makes me think it was.

    Dumaguete Editorial Comment

This is an editorial quote from the Dumaguete Chronicle's Sunday edition regarding the Parking Attendent shoting:

"For one thing, the victim, Jesus Fabe, Jr., 30, married, from Tanjay, has bad, if not “derogatory,” park records saying he is allegedly bossy and is suspected to be a “spotter.” A spotter is one who tips the car burglars if parked cars have valuables inside before they ransack. If true, why is he still tolerated by the city TMO as a park attendant? "

They have their own pecking order like any gang. A great bunch of guys until you brush them off once too often.
I started a thread here a couple of years ago about the parking mafia at Robinsons

    http://www.dumagueteinfo.com/board/general-chat/motor-bike-mafia-6663.html

At the time most of the forum htought they were a harmless bunch of guys earning a few pesos
    maybe times have changed......

I remember the Thread well and it got messy, Not sure we are talking the same thing here, this sounds more like a personal grudge thing. For me I would sooner wait till the facts come out. I can't see a lengthy back and forth posts battle, doing anyone, any good, until the story unfolds a little more factually. I think best left alone. Even then, Mud slinging is not going to alter things. I am sure we have all had a slight run in with parking attendants but Shooting them! mmmm this runs deeper, Heads down time I think, Only my opinion but I am sure others may agree.

I too remember the post, sure started a free for all on that one. I liked it though, haha Actually I didnt post to it then. mainly because most who had only been here for a short time had the idea it was poor guys just trying to make a couple pennies. I been here long enough to know how it got started in the first place and Why there are areas where the guys has an ID card. I do tip at those areas, always, and in some of the areas where its needed, someone to assist. But its gotten way out of hand. The old story to teach a man to fish or feed him fish. I know a couple of them (not all) and they definitely make more than some of the Skilled labors. Even more than a bodega ( warehouse) manager. My neighbor.

What I was getting at b4 I had to stop and eat dinner was, There is a jealousy for the better locations, and A rivalry for most any that has a lot of parking. Some say mafia light hearted, but I have seen a few times the guy coming around and collecting from a few places, not the areas with id attendants, thats different. So maybe its not the Teves, maybe it is, biggest chances are we will probably not know this either way. Most been here long enough to know there are laws for some and none for others.

My point is a lot of guys here probably thought Jesus ( the parking minder) was a great guy when it turns out according to the paper he was known to mouth off at non payers and was suspected of being a spotter for cars that his associates could rob.
These guys know the times when you and your family are shopping and not at home , its easy enough to find where you live and rob your house while you are merrily shopping.
As to waiting for all the facts to emerge. You aint in Kansas no more, there will be no cross examination in court over this one.

Any udates on this case. Have the facts come out yet or has it been written off as an inhouse disagreement within the parking mafia.

    I doubt the "facts" will ever be known. In a related issue;

Board Member Arnie Teves and several of his cohorts were dropped from the charge sheet concerning the conspiracy to kill Bayawan first councilor Atty Ching Alabastro last year.

This was in accordance to a resolution by prosecutors headed by Asst Provincial Proscecutor Rav Rocamora, for lack of evidence.

His other alleged cohorts namely Pacito Libron Jasper “Bobong” Tanasan, a certain Diocares and Mayagma were exonerated from the charge after the main suspect Herman Escora recanted his earlier assertions implicating the Board Member and four others.

The panel of prosecutors led by Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Rav Rocamora ruled that only Escora and Rio Siasan, who were positively identified by Councilor Alabastro, will be tried for the alleged assassination attempt outside the NORSU Sta. Catalina-Bayawan campus.

Nevertheless, Alabastro filed a motion for reconsideration so that the prosecutors will at least include Tanasan, whose recovered M-16 reportedly found to match with the firearm used in his slay-try after a ballistic examination by the Philippine National Police.
