I approached the Guard at the side entrance at Robinson Mall after seeing a man hand over his licence to carry a weapon to the Guard, I asked him how many licences at one time would he hold, he said maybe 10, now that’s only at his door so how many weapon heads are there walking around the Mall with loaded handguns? That has freaked me out somewhat, especially on today’s news yet another massacre in an American cinema where there were 71 shot and 12 dead in a matter of 1.5 minutes, can you imagine if some tosser lets loose in Robinson Mall, the Guards are not adequately trained to handle such circumstances, the swat team would take I am sure more than 1.5 minutes to be on the scene as in America, I for one will be writing to Robinson Management and the Mayor to stop the caring of loaded Handguns in the mall, who knows who is caring an ozzie within that licence? And don’t say oh but licensed handgun owners don’t do such things they do! Remember the police officer in Manila that hijacked that bus? Had some grievance? He killed Korean tourists on that bus. Also what is the validity of the licences handed over ? they could be easily be forged, which leaves the Mall in a situation of there being many guns there for a very organised hold up, In Bacolod the power company Ceneco was held up by 8 yes 8 men inside the Ceneco building with handguns, too late but guess who scans every person now for weapons, I bet they don’t allow handguns in there building anymore hehe.
None of the guards are trained to use fire arms from what they said to me and if they had been would you trust one of those old .38's ? You might get better results throwing it at someone I once mentioned this to the guard at Tierra alta, anyway the next time I was up there he had rubbed it down with sandpaper and painted it with black gloss so it looked better, they have also had the same ammo for years, would it work? Some banks here will not let you in if you carry inc bdo,the guard will take care of it until you come out.
Handing over a license to carry a firearm has no bearing on how many weapons enter the mall every day. I would be willing to bet anyone that really wanted to smuggle in a shotgun and 2 pistols with a little planning could get past the security with no problem. If I thought it would do any good, I would ask the management to install a better screening system at all public entrance's and strictly monitor all employees that enter (if they don't already). On another note, if the person was responsible enough to declare his weapon and turn over his license, he could be a good guy to have around if violence erupts. Ron
d*mn, thanks for the heads up, wonder where I can get a flak jacket... Does anyone know what it would cost to upgrade my wife's home gun permit to a license to carry?
