apparently the dti wants us to discard of our old helmets and buy new ones. that's the implication buzzing around.
LTO has a diff angle in the story, they're not gonna back down because the helmet law has been here since 2010 and has been trampled upon for so long probably they've got some pressure because of the rising incidents. not good for election.

I still don't see how putting a helmet on an untrained rider, on an unsafe motorcycle is going to make anyone any safer.

Unsafe rider, Unsafe Motorcycle, Unsafe roads, Unlit roads, Unlicienced other drivers, Unbraked vehicles, Untreaded tyres, Unbelievable bo**ocks !
The Helmets will happen, fact, it just the stupidity of it, here in Dumaguete they want to reduce the number of tricycles, but the helmet law will potentially increase them. Last weekend i took my gf and her friend for lunch on my bike three of us. After 1st August, i will have to take my motorcycle for me and gf and friend witll have to ride tricycle . . . its all Bo**ocks !

Hey, I heard from a reliable source that helmets with a DOT or other internationally recognized inspection organization doesn't need an additional sticker.

Does anyone have the actual helmet law, the way it is written in full?

My helmets got an ICC sticker right next to the DOT imprint today. I am relieved and feel safer already.
Went to the park again today. The tents are gone and found someone who said they were handling the DTI stickers at their office on San Jose st. next to hotel Nicanor. Got there around 9 and was too late to get a number to wait in line for the morning. Returned at 11 and put our name in for the afternoon number, waiting thing. Came back at 12:45 and was out the door for home at a little after 1:30. 3 trips to Dgt and about P1,500 in food, fuel, etc. and we've got our "free" stickers. The DTI office is getting congested already and there is no real flow chart type planning at all. Be prepared is all I can say. YMMV.
Even if someone higher up realizes the law is misguided and it gets recalled, I've got my holographic ICC stickers and the joyous memory of the hunt which no one can take away.
