Give her a break !!! If I was that age and had to watch all of that I would look miserable and wish I was somewhere else. Some of it was spectacular and other parts fell flat. They kept emphasising that most of those taking part were volunteers, so you have to wonder why, with all those volunteers, it still cost 27 million quid. The colour and light show was brilliant, but 40 minutes of the National Health Service, digging up Paul McCartney and the appearance of David Beckham was cringe-factor 10. HM needn't be too despondent about the old countries. The athletes from some of them have already started jumping ship and claiming asylum. Strange that the same athletes were happy to return to their own countries 4 years ago and didn't want to claim asylum in China !!!
Maybe true Broadside (I watched the whole ceremony live too), but she could at least have tried to be awake when she declared the Games opened - it was not really an enthousiastic speech... Highlight of the ceremony was of course the appearance of Rowan Atkinson Vicmico
Well, the final of the mens 100 metres will be just like any other Friday night in Stratford, East London. There will be a gunshot, and then 8 guys will start running like hell.
I slowly get into the Olympic spirit... No Idea what sport that is, but "four girls with little cloth jumpin in the sand" is a great competition...
