I've had 2 accidents here (neither my fault) and both times as my head was bouncing along the pavement I kept thinking to my self "thank God I got this f*^$#ing helmet on" But to each his own.
Its not about 'forceing' anything its just plain old common sense. remember that as they scrape your head off the road.
As it is a matter of safety I do find it stupid how others still have to be "scared off" with fines and penalties in order to wear helmets Same goes with seatbelts.. I had an assistant whom I even said I will give a salary advance just so she can buy a proper helmet for herself. She refused. Now that it has been required in Cebu.. she said to me she HAS to buy this time. tsk tsk tsk...
light-bulbs are cheaper and increase safety multiple times more than a helmet.... and that for everyone one the street not only for the driver. Make Helmet mandatory only for ugly ones. .... wait a moment... Shadow, broadside, myself .... nah skip that idea too ...
It's the family of the head injury victim that pays the heavy price. They're the ones that'll have to feed him and change his diapers. I don't want to risk that happening to my family. That's why I wear a helmet. I could really care less if someone outside my family doesn't wear one. No skin off my azz. Fools abound in this world.
I agree, so why not starting with something which does not cost much and increases safety extremely, like spending a few peso for a working head and rear light. in Dumaguete thousand of guys bring their girl (who is the money earner) to work and go back home to waste the money she earns. so at the end the family has more left when he is gone.
And when the head light is working some explanation that in case a motorbike or car or vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction to dim the beam light which also will contribute to each others safety. Sometimes I am wondering whether the majority of drivers @night are either short sighted or completely night blind.
Hahahaha! Nice one. I agree, helmets only preserves the face when you are being displayed inside the coffin. Hehehe....
] Just lately, I am seeing more and more bikes with just about every colour light, except those prescribed for road use. talk about dazel
