Had a problem with my split-aircon unit late on Saturday afternoon, when the condensation drainage system was blocked and leaked a lot of water onto the kitchen floor. Just after 5 pm I went to RTC Aircon on Hibbard Avenue and explained the problem. They sent two guys to my house within 10 minutes. Opened up the system, blew out the blockage, cleared the airways, got the aircon working properly. Would not take any payment. Arranged to do a full service on the system, and booked it for 9 a.m. Tuesday (today). Arrived at 8.50 a.m. Stripped the unit inside and the power unit outside. Cleaned, serviced, re-assembled and tested. Covered all switches and power points before they started, cleaned as they went along, and wiped down the wall and floor when they had finished. Absolutely no mess and time taken was about 1 hour and 45 minutes. No Mickey Mouse suggestions that "you need this replaced" or "we'll come back later". Kept going until job was completed. Total cost, including being called out on Saturday - 560 pesos. Very efficient, very professional and I'm happy to endorse them and recommend. Roger

Thanks for the recommendation roger, rtc aircon turned up on time if not a bit early, took out the unit and serviced and cleaned it all, re installed it within the hour. Php 350 will be using them again, great service.
The same positive experience here, I had a problem with a Toshiba Refrigerator that I bought surplus, they picked it up at my place (a good 10-12 km drive, one way) fixed it and return it the following day, payed 350Php incl. parts. Very satisfied with their service.
Wow they should have charged that just for the pickup/delivery really... Good to hear about businesses like this here.
I got lucky because they had to deliver an Aircon unit next door, but I have another story to tell, a friend of mine bought a Samsung Big Screen TV at Centrum Appliances, after 18 months it got damaged as a Lighting Bolt hit in the Neighbourhood, RTC is the Service center for Samsung in Dumaguete, after a local Repair Shop tried to repair it, it was brought to RTC, after some time the news came back that the Main Board was fried and no replacement possible anymore. My friend then thought that's the end of it but about 2 weeks later he was contacted by RTC and got the news that Samsung would refund half of the new price because of their failure to supply a new Board and sure enough the money was transfered to his account at the end of the month...
I have a similar experience with samsung, I bought an expensive washing machine and the extended warranty for 2 years. it broke at some point and got fixed on warranty. Later it died again, and we had long and hard battles to get it fixed, in the end they gave up on it and then they refunded about half the purchase price. This was around 3 years after purchase. Needless to day I was floored by this!
